Here is the real, raw truth…. In order for people to find you and your services, you’ve got to be willing to show up and get VISIBLE!
This is a huge fear and a big disconnect I see with so many early-stage entrepreneurs. The whole “What will people think?” fear starts to creep in and get really loud.
Here is what I have to say about that…
First of all who are living your life for anyway? It is your purpose and your mission to please others? If so, be my guest and continue to live that way. I’m sorry to be the one to tell you, but true fulfillment and joy will never come from living in a state of people pleasing. Trust me, I know, I’ve been there!
Second of all, you aren’t here to serve everyone and everyone is not going to “get it” and that’s ok. Stay in your lane and focus on the soul that is excited to have found you, your work, and your unique gifts.
Finally, for someone to comment negatively truthfully says a whole lot more about them, than it does you. I’m not saying that takes the burn out, but what I am saying is their words are a reflection of them and not you.
Back to the point of the positive spin of negative comments online. For you to have triggered someone means, you are doing something right. People don’t comment on things that feel irrelevant to them.
My TEDx talk, How to use Quantum Physics to make your dreams your reality, was recently released. At first, I was thrilled and giddy, because it had almost 12,000 views within the first 36 hours of being released.
Yes, I was pumped because this meant that a powerful message about how we can utilize energies and frequencies to create our dreams is a conversation that will be hitting the mainstream.
This is a big part of what I stand for. Creating a movement where people tap into the infinite possibilities available to all of us. It didn’t take long before I found the comment section and realized not everyone was going to be on team Suzanne.
At first, it stung, and then I remembered a technique one of my early mentors, Gabby Bernstein had taught me. Pray, forgive and delete. I prayed I forgave, then crap—I couldn’t delete because it’s on a public site I have no control over.
Then it hit me. There is no such thing as bad press, right? I looked again and there were about 10 times as many thumbs up it than thumbs down. I released that the fact that my talk was starting a conversation was still a powerful and positive thing.
I also realized that all of these comments, both good and bad were creating activity on my talk and therefore creating more exposures. As I am writing this now, there are 130,000 views on my talk in only about 2 weeks!
This is the power of showing, getting visible and letting go of any cares of what other people will think.
In a matter of 2 weeks, I’ve already had a radio station reaching out to me inviting me to host my own show, multiple potential clients reach out to inquire about my services, and a few other organizations reach out to me about speaking at their events.
As you grow, and as you get more visible, not everyone will be n board with your growth and your message. The sooner you can get behind your work, and let go of need the validation of the public, the faster and quicker you will create your own ripple effect of positivity.
Be bold, keep showing up, and have some gratitude for any negative comments that are actually pushing your message out to more people!
With Big Love,
Suzanne
